Seulement deux autres coureurs, Kenenisa Bekele&nbsp;et Eliud Kipchoge ont atteint un temps sous la barri\u00e8re des <strong><span style=\"color: #083252;\">2:03:10<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Une baisse de 3 minutes sur ces temps repr\u00e9sente une am\u00e9lioration de <strong><span style=\"color: #083252;\">2,5%<\/span><\/strong> de leur performance. Cette marge d&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration pourrait sembler accessible pour un coureur lambda, cependant, comme le souligne plusieurs scientifiques, ces trois champions sont loin d\u2019\u00eatre dans la norme et \u00e0 leur niveau, cette marge de 2,5% d\u2019am\u00e9lioration de leur performance est absolument \u00e9norme.<\/p>\n<p>Pour aller plus vite, un coureur doit soit devenir plus puissant soit \u00eatre plus efficace dans sa technique, soit&nbsp;profiter de conditions de courses exceptionnelles.<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #1dd3d1;\"><strong>Comment rendre un coureur plus puissant&nbsp;?<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>La mesure principale de la puissance d\u2019un runner est sa VO2 max&nbsp;: &nbsp;le d\u00e9bit maximum d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne consomm\u00e9 lors d&rsquo;un effort, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire le volume maximal d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne pr\u00e9lev\u00e9 au niveau des poumons et utilis\u00e9 par les muscles par unit\u00e9 de temps.<\/p>\n<p>Pour info, les marathoniens qui repr\u00e9sentent l&rsquo;\u00e9lite de la discipline sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 80% de leur VO2 max durant la course.<\/p>\n<p>La personne moyenne peut augmenter sa capacit\u00e9 en s\u2019entra\u00eenant \u00e0 haute intensit\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re soutenue sur des p\u00e9riodes donn\u00e9s (entra\u00eenement fractionn\u00e9 par ex).&nbsp;Cependant, la VO2 max est conditionn\u00e9e en partie par la g\u00e9n\u00e9tique qui impose ses limites au bout d\u2019un certain niveau atteint.<\/p>\n<p>Limite qui ne peut \u00eatre d\u00e9pass\u00e9e potentiellement que par des produits dopants qui sont bien entendu interdits dans la pratique du marathon et dans tous les autres sports d\u2019ailleurs.<\/p>\n<p>Ce qui veut dire que pour aller plus vite, le coureur de tr\u00e8s haut niveau va devoir surtout devenir plus efficace que puissant.<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #1dd3d1;\"><strong>Comment rendre un coureur plus efficace&nbsp;?<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Un coureur exploite en moyenne <span style=\"color: #083252;\"><strong>45%<\/strong><\/span> de l\u2019\u00e9nergie g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e par ses jambes pour avancer. Le reste de l\u2019\u00e9nergie est dissip\u00e9e lorsque ses pieds frappent le sol.<\/p>\n<p>Une fa\u00e7on d\u2019am\u00e9liorer l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 d\u2019un coureur est de ramener une plus grande partie de cette \u00e9nergie \u00e0 chaque foul\u00e9e dans les jambes du coureur. Une des pistes exploit\u00e9e pour y arriver est technologique : &nbsp;des chaussures utilisant une technologie proche de la pouss\u00e9e par ressort.<\/p>\n<p>Au marathon de Duba\u00ef, en janvier 2016, Bekele a couru avec un nouveau prototype de chaussures Nike incluant une technologie utilisant ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 dans sa semelle interm\u00e9diaire. Malheureusement, l&rsquo;athl\u00e8te a \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d\u2019une chute en d\u00e9but de course, on en saura pas plus sur l&rsquo;avantage pr\u00e9sum\u00e9 des fameuses chaussures&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019apr\u00e8s Peter Weyand, sp\u00e9cialiste en biom\u00e9chanique, les chaussures \u00e0 ressort ne permettront pas de passer sous la barre des deux heures. \u00ab&nbsp;\u00c7a fait longtemps que l\u2019on essaye de mettre des ressorts dans les chaussures, les tests ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9s des r\u00e9sultats minimes voire inexistants&nbsp;\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Adidas est \u00e9galement en qu\u00eate du graal avec son projet Sub2. Depuis quelques temps d\u00e9j\u00e0, la marque travaille sur une nouvelle paire de chaussures (d\u00e9voil\u00e9e en mars dernier) permettant de passer la barri\u00e8re des 2h.<\/p>\n<p>Contrairement \u00e0 Nike, la marque aux trois bandes veut battre le record sur une \u00e9preuve ouverte, probablement sur une \u00e9tape du <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/World_Marathon_Majors\">world marathon major<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Des tests ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s au Kenya avec la chaussure Sub2. L\u2019innovation se concentre sur la mati\u00e8re de la semelle, ultra l\u00e9g\u00e8re, avec, selon l\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e0 la base du projet, une capacit\u00e9 de pouss\u00e9e sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la moyenne. D\u2019apr\u00e8s lui il n\u2019y aura pas une avanc\u00e9e majeure dans le domaine mais plut\u00f4t de multiples optimisations dans diff\u00e9rents domaines scientifiques qui vont permettre d\u2019aller chercher le record sous les 2h.<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #1dd3d1;\"><strong>Comment rendre la course plus facile&nbsp;? <\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Ce n&rsquo;est pas les id\u00e9es qui manquent !<\/p>\n<p>Un parcours en pente avec une m\u00e9t\u00e9o favorable \u2013avec de pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence le vent dans le dos \u2013 pourrait faire la diff\u00e9rence.<\/p>\n<p>Courir sous le niveau de la mer pourrait \u00e9galement aider, en effet, la concentration d\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne augmente \u00e0 mesure que l\u2019altitude baisse, rendant la respiration plus efficace.<\/p>\n<p>Imaginons \u00e9galement que des meneurs d\u2019allure courent des parties de la courses \u00e0 une allure sous les 2h. Cela permettrait de limiter la r\u00e9sistance au vent des pr\u00e9tendants au record. On pourrait obtenir un gain de performance compris entre 1 et 2 % d\u2019apr\u00e8s Ross Tucker, un scientifique s\u2019int\u00e9ressant de pr\u00e8s \u00e0 la question.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019inconv\u00e9nient de telles mesures est que la f\u00e9d\u00e9ration internationale d\u2019Athl\u00e9tisme risque de ne pas valider le record&nbsp;!<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #1dd3d1;\">Et Nike dans tout \u00e7a ?<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Maintenant que l\u2019on sait ce qu\u2019il faut pour passer sous les deux heures, r\u00e9capitulons ce que Nike a mis en place&nbsp;:<\/p>\n<p>En prenant trois des meilleurs marathoniens au monde : Eliud Kipchoge, Lelisa Desisa and Zersenay Tadese, Nike s\u2019assure d\u2019avoir des coureurs avec une puissance ph\u00e9nom\u00e9nale.
